Your Guide to Living at Maxwell Place in Hoboken
I’ve called Hoboken home since 2003 and have extensive experience helping buyers and sellers at Maxwell Place. As a Hoboken Realtor®, I’ve worked with homes throughout the Maxwell Place community and understand the differences between its four buildings.
Maxwell Place is one of Hoboken’s premier luxury waterfront condo communities, with four buildings offering a range of residences, amenities, layouts, views, and finishes.
If you’re considering buying or selling at Maxwell Place, this guide will give you a closer look at each building and what it’s actually like to live here.
The Maxwell Place Buildings
1025 Maxwell Lane
Built in 2006, 1025 Maxwell Lane was the first building completed in the Maxwell Place community. It has 168 residences ranging from studios to four-bedrooms, with homes ranging from original Toll Brothers finishes to fully renovated interiors.
Unlike the other Maxwell Place buildings, 1025 does not have amenities located directly within the building, which also means less resident traffic through its common areas. Residents have access to the shared Maxwell Place amenities at 1100 and 1125 Maxwell Lane, including pools, fitness centers, resident lounges and rooftop spaces.
Most residences include on-site parking, and select homes offer south-facing and Hudson River views.
1125 Maxwell Lane
Built in 2008, 1125 Maxwell Lane is the largest part of the Maxwell Place community, with 376 residences across two connected buildings surrounding a landscaped courtyard. Homes range from studios to three-bedrooms, along with a limited collection of three-level waterfront townhomes.
Many residences offer some of the best Hudson River and Manhattan skyline views at Maxwell Place, particularly those facing directly toward the waterfront. Residents have access to rooftop and outdoor spaces as well as the shared Maxwell Place amenities.
Most residences include on-site parking, and interiors range from original Toll Brothers finishes to extensively renovated homes.
1100 Maxwell Lane
Built in 2014, 1100 Maxwell Lane has 210 residences ranging from studios to three-bedrooms. As one of the newer buildings within the community, many homes retain their original Toll Brothers finishes, although a growing number have been updated or renovated.
Amenities located within the building include a fitness center, swimming pool, children’s playroom and resident lounge. Most residences include on-site garage parking.
Because 1100 Maxwell sits behind 1125 Maxwell Lane rather than directly along the waterfront, views vary significantly by residence. Select homes have Hudson River or skyline views, while many do not.
1000 Maxwell Lane
Built in 2021, 1000 Maxwell Lane is the newest and most boutique of the four Maxwell Place buildings, with just 59 residences ranging from studios to three-bedrooms.
The building has a distinctly more contemporary feel, with modern finishes including white lacquer cabinetry. Its resort-style rooftop pool and sundeck offer south-facing views toward the Freedom Tower, while many south-facing residences overlook Elysian Park, providing open views protected by the park below.
Unlike 1025, 1100 and 1125 Maxwell Lane, which share an HOA, 1000 Maxwell Lane has its own separate HOA. Parking for residents is located across the street at 1100 Maxwell Lane, and monthly HOA fees tend to be higher than in the three buildings that share the larger Maxwell Place HOA.
